Every girl deserves to walk into puberty feeling prepared instead of surprised, so we are pairing a craft table with a registered nurse and letting the questions fly. Girls will design and bedazzle their own just in case period pouch, then stock it with everything they need to feel ready when the day arrives, all while a registered nurse from Mindful Beginnings walks them through what is actually happening in their bodies and why. We cover why puberty happens and what to expect step by step, breast development, body hair, and the other physical changes that show up along the way, periods themselves including what they are, when they might start, and what the first one really feels like, body care and hygiene and how to feel confident in a body that keeps changing, the mood swings and emotional shifts that catch everyone off guard, and when something is worth a call to the doctor. Nothing is off limits and no question is too embarrassing, because a girl with glue and rhinestones in her hands asks the things she would never ask across a kitchen table. Girls leave with a pouch they made, a kit they packed, and answers from a nurse who has heard it all. A relaxed, no awkwardness afternoon for 5th, 6th, and 7th grade girls
